Sorry about the stupid question, but I'm confused when it comes to kids and fishing licenses.  I have a son and we fish freshwater trout, non tidal salmon and tidal salmon. 

For Freshwater, it looks like kids don't need a license; however, do they need a non-tidal salmon stamp?  If so, how do you do this?

For tidal, it looks like even kids need a license and stamp.  However, the license is free and you must pay for the stamps. True?

BTW, my son's size 3 waders (perfect for a kid who wears size 3 shoe and/or ~7 yrs old) are still for sale. You can find that posting in the for sale board.

Nothing needed for fresh but he needs a tag and license for aalt.  So total is about $6

There is no kids priced fresh water license, so where do you expect to attach the stamp to?

Kids can retain their own limit (same as an licensed angler) in freshwater, no license or stamp is required, nor do they need to be accompanied by a license holder.

If you are under 16 and a resident of B.C.:

- you may sport fish without any licence or stamp;
- you do not need to be accompanied by a licence holder;
- you are entitled to your own quota of fish.

If you are under 16 and a non-resident of B.C.:

- you do not require any licence or stamp to sport fish, but you must be accompanied by a person (resident or non-resident) who has the appropriate licences and stamps;
- any fish you keep must be counted as part of the catch and possession of your accompanying licence holder;
- if you want to catch and keep your own quota of fish, you may buy a licence and any necessary supplementary licences and stamps.
