Canon balls

two questions. How heavy fishing around amble side and local Vancouver waters. And where do you buy them.

Tough to generalize……
How heavy depends on a few things like, how deep you are going to fish and how much gear your going to hang off each cable.
Another factor if your lazy like I am will be if your riggers are manual or electric, mine are electric so I always use #15 balls unless I need #20s but if I was cranking them up I would be using the lightest I could get away with.
Cant answer where to buy them because I make them myself…...

Lots on Craigslist as you probably already know , unfortunately price of lead is up and the price of downrigger balls follows suit.

Go with Craigslist for your Cannon Balls; lot cheaper than buying them retail.

Army & Navy is probably going to have a shortage of Cannon Balls this Season, as Gibbs Tackle is no longer manufacturing lead sinkers over 6oz's due to cost of lead and Backyard/Basement Competitors, and from what I understand Management is still trying to find a new supplier. We got a few 10 & 15lbs' left last I saw.

Try Craigslist. Got mine for good price and coated with glow green rubber. I use 12 lb on electric. Not bad. Currents can get crazy that's when 15 is nice for more control.
