Salish Sea Marine Survival Project With Brian Riddell (PSF)
« on: January 03, 2015, 02:32:32 PM »

Well worth taking the time to view this. I did not know all this was happening.

At the heart of the Salish Sea Marine Survival Project is the notion of biodiversity and interdependence. Past efforts targeting a single factor have been uninformative and potentially misleading.

I’m not surprised you didn’t know about this project … you religiously read and post Almo’s blogs and film Eddy Gardner whenever you can but have ignored the real science via the links people like SS provide you ..
Whatever, now others know what is being done so thanks for posting this.

PFS is the real deal and is likely why AM does not have any thing to do with it to my knowledge.  There is SOOOO much good science being done by this organization!!!

Heres a very interesting one that I was surprised to see.

Seals and Salmon:    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hGbAKtTejH0

And there is so much more.  You want salmon science this is the place to get it.  PSF no BS funding, no BS activists.  Looking at as much of the WHOLE PICTURE as posable.  A good place to donate IMHO.

MY 2 cents

Posted it already, but it's good to bump this up so that the public is more aware of this.  There is some good science that is going to be done which will address some of those Cohen recommendations either directly or indirectly. Morton doesn't mention this (or the Fish Health Initiative) because she is not into collaborating with scientists who do not share her theories of environmental apocalypse; however, a collaborative approach is what is needed now.  There are some very notable scientists (including Dr. Kristi Miller) involved from here and the US in these projects so to attack them with the usual Morton rhetoric might make her appear "anti-science".  If that happens she might be compared to Mr. Harper. Wouldn't that be weird.

I hope Harper will not have his finger in this as well.

He will have perhaps a finger in it but there will be fingers from other groups in these projects.

While we are talking about good places to donate I was wondering whatever happened to Morton's GoFundMe website which was looking to get donations for her water sampling at Quesnel Lake following the Mt. Polley tailings breach.  Well, that site no longer exists on her Facebook page or her blog; plus it's been over 4 months now and no results for apparently something that needed immediate answers because local First Nations were very concerned.  Where are the results?  Where are the results on this apparently toxic blue sheen that burns like a jelly fish?  I would think supporters to this sampling effort should be informed how their money was spent.  What accountability can she show regarding how these funds were spent - not just for her supporters but for those she criticizes for not being transparent enough?

Now, she is asking for more money to fund this negative advertising campaign using the same funding solicitation method. What happens if she doesn't meet her funding goal? What accountability is she offering to know where the money is being spent? Folks going to donate to this effort should be asking Ms. Morton these questions.  In my opinion, there is no comparison to how NGO organizations like the PSF operates.

I recall during the Cohen Commission that AM was soliciting funds for Dr Kristi Miller's research on her webpage. I'll bet Dr. Miller never saw a penny and I doubt a government research scientist could accept that funding even if they wanted too. Sometimes I have to wonder if some activists actually care about the issue or if they are just in it for the attention and compensation. That's one of the reasons I walked away from Greenpeace back in my youth.....I began to doubt the leaders actually cared about nuclear testing.

You lost your coho, springs and steelhead  due to 3 yrs. of El Nino. The years 1989-91. The river habitat was wiped. The cause "logging period".
Goggle "ViKtor Shauberger".  Youtube  has commentary on his life and views of rivers and there life giving waters and what happens when the  forest is strip mined and the rivers become strait gradients.
Do study on how fresh water when entering the ocean mixes with the salt water. They say that the foreshore and out to 30' of water is the most productive part of the ocean.
Dana Durnford on "Youtube" is doing research in the intertidal zone. You may be shocked at what he has discovered,
Our west coast is going to go the way of the east coast because in this world we live in money talks and common sense walks.
 Old Cree prophecy

When all the trees have been cut down
And all the animals(fish) have been hunted
    The waters are polluted
And you cannot breathe the air
       Then they will realize
         You cannot eat money
