Stamp River - Storm/Flooding Update

(1/1)

Murphy Sportfishing:
The Storm has doubled up again today and pounded the area with more torrential rains.  This combined with the sea surge from the 8 Meter seas offshore has pushed the full moon high tides even higher in the Alberni Inlet.  The result is one big backed up muddy watershed!

River is raging and a number of low lying road closures and flooding has occurred.

The debris coming down stream is epic and the main highway bridge crossing the Somass is rumored to be closing any moment as the river peaks at high tide.

This morning I had to row down Ferguson road and down the driveway in a drift boat to get to the lodge. We may even flood at the lodge late today if the waters don't recede. Tying up a drift boat just off the front porch was an uneasy feeling.

The River will be out for days and likely through the weekend, I wouldn't be planning a trip to the Stamp this weekend!

The upper will clear up quicker with the area above the Ash River being the first. The lower river will take more time to clear up. Stay tuned!

Knee Deep!
