Ok, so I just bought a pontoon boat for the first time and I'm looking into drifting the Squamish river. I have no experience with river pontooning but I'm looking into taking some sort of a course, however, there doesn't seem to be any right now. Before you write me off as a complete liability I should add that I have taken a swift water rescue technician course (level 1). Just wondering if there's any like minded fly fishermen out there that wants to partner up for drifting the Squamish? I've been walking/wading the upper for years and I have a pretty good knowledge of the area, just don't want to drift alone. Anyway, just throwing it out there. Cheers!

Says class 4, but I'll never be doing any of that. It a 9' Outcast.

Watch for sweepers on the Squamish, it use to be common for them to be on corners. Sweepers will turn you into a use to be quickly.

So, I've been in contact with Russ Brown of Chilliwack River Rafting and I signed up for his pontoon course. If anyone else is interested we're aiming for next weekend, water levels permitting. Cost is around $100, let me know if you're interested.
