Sufix 832: Ghost or Camo for beach fishing?
« on: July 30, 2014, 01:37:20 PM »

Looking to amp up my casting distance for coho off the beach (the bigger ones are always just out of casting range! :) ) by spooling up my spinning reel with braid.

Do members have a preference, or recommendation, of which Sufix 832 brand (ghost or camo) is better for saltwater spinfishing application in relatively clear shallow waters?

I know this doesn't really answer your question regarding the 2 Sufix lines, but give berkley nanofil a go.  Hands down best line I have ever used for spinning reels.

The ghost is supposedly nearly invisible underwater.

It really doesn't matter if you run ghost or camo, if you're using 10 lb test then your line diameter is only 2 lb, which will be invisible in the turbid salt water.

Thanks. I hear what you are saying however the water is usually gin clear. But point taken about it being the diameter of 2 lb.

Anyone know where I can find Nanofil in Van? Looked at Pacific Angler, CDN tire (Cambie and Grandview), Wal-mart... No luck finding it.
