Fishing in White Rock
« on: May 03, 2014, 07:46:32 PM »

Hi Everyone,

We are planning a crab-fishing day in White Rock soon, on foot, with a bunch of non-angler friends.
Two of us would like to try as well to fish from the pier or the beach for flounder, soles ...
I'm really unfamiliar with this type of fishing, so any advice on what technique/bait to use, what fish to target -which is the easiest, which gives the best fight, which would be the best to eat- would be very welcome !

Thanks !

ive been there manytimes on thw white rock pier you can do is get worms and drop near bottom that can get you bullheads i even got a small lingcod
and some red rockfish before

but for the rockfish maybe 6inches i used a small fish and same for the ling cod but that was like 3inches lol of course you have to release those but not sure about the bullheads

Thank you guys.

For what I read, bottom fishing, or maybe jigging, for flounders and other flat fish, and if I'm no mistaking, rockfish and lingcod must be released (should not even be targeted).
Well, let's hope we can have fun with some starry flounders !
