Pretty sure that if you were on the Vedder today, you were witness to nothing but "shameful fishing tactics".

Don't generalize.
There is plenty of us who know where to find slack water where coho is holding and use fly rods or blades and get those fish to slam our presentations.

Just because you don't know better it doesn't mean there aren't others who do.
Just because coho are off roe doesn't  mean you can't entice them to smash a well retrieved fly or spinner.

Come on now!  ::)

Yeah I too saw the father and son "snag team" up at borden creek. Both wearing there polarized and waiting for a fish to move into there chosen holding pocket before they flipped a short sweeping cast through it. But why are you picking on these guys when almost the whole river is doing it. I remember seeing the sam guys under the kieth wilson bridge regularly, and as soon as we got the first good bump in water all those guys knew exactly where to go Tamahi...  Why not make some posters up and mount them high just behind the snagger at Tamahi, just to make sure they get it....

No, roe is great, just not my thing for coho.
Simply put, there is something truly special about coho on the fly...by far my favorite fishery, with steelheading coming a close second.

I find these coho are not nearly as good quality as Vedder are. Their meat is like Pinks.
