What a great game for the Canadian Women. It's too bad that they could not pull it off, not just to guarantee a silver medal but to knock the cocky US womens team out of the gold medal game.
But what a great effort. Proud to be Canadian.

FIFA as Bob Lenarduzzi has pointed out in his reply to the Province newspaper is blowing smoke. The shame in all of this is that such an incompetent referee was allowed to ref such an important match. If you are going to enforce the six second rule you have to do it throughout the entire game. In addition, no verbal warning was given to the Canadian goalkeeper. That should have been done first, instead of awarding the penalty kick. Such a shame when the athletes put so much effort in getting to these events only to have it spoiled by some incompetent officiating.
