ALERT: BIG TREE RIGHT ACROSS COWICHAN RIVER

It's a big cedar, about 3' at the butt, right across the river, about 1.5 km upstream from Skutz. I heard that a drift boat overturned on it Friday, but luckily, the 3 anglers from Victoria are okay. They would have had an uncomfortable hike out. Good thing the weather was relatively mild.

It's always wise to phone a local shop or guide service, before you drift that river. Apparently, this cedar has been blocking the river for quite awhile, but out of town anglers wouldn't necessarily know about it.
