I have heard that Puget Sound in Washington has quite a large population of resident cohos.

I have always understood that there are resident coho in the Strait and some Googling led to me several articles/papers to indicate that , yes, that is the case, however there were far greater numbers until the 1980s when these fish started to migrate to the outside.

Lots of other papers to be read on the subject...
