Big buck Hatchery buck from the other day. Got to fight it twice before i finally landed it and released it. Notice the blade in its mouth ( snapped me off the first time) along with the roe bag:)

awesome pictures hue nut! how do u manage to get your wilds to stay so still while taking your shots? seems i cant even let go of the tail of most of the wilds ive been catching without having them bolt off

A few firsts today. First, this is my first post of pics on the site. Second, it was the first time I've taken pics of fish before releasing - not easy. Third, it was my first wild fish of the season. Got them on 2 consecutive casts very late today when water was colouring up - hence the golf ball sized goobies  ;D

Hue-nut has also mentioned more than once he takes most his pics with his iphone. I know from owning one that it only takes a couple seconds to get the camera up and ready, at least you can do the effects later on though  ;D still no idea how he gets the fish to co-operate

I also have the same problem with every fish i catch, the problem of not being able to get them calm while not holding their tail or at least a hand across the belly to calm them. I also think its been a few years since i even got a pic of a wild steelhead because im usually to busy admiring them as i remove the hook and revive and release them to continue their journey  ;D ;D ;D ;D

hatchery ones of course are easy to take pictures of because they are stone cold dead !!! LOL

I talked calmly to the girls and assured them I would be releasing them unharmed and they relaxed for me  ;D Seriously though, they both fought extremely hard and were well spent by the time I got them to shore. I was concerned about them flapping on rocks and such but none of that happened - they just laid there. The camera was ready to go and I just took one shot of each. It took the first one about a minute to revive fully. The second was ready to go in about 15 secs.
