I buy their hooks and heads, but tie my own jigs. They have the best hooks for jigs Ive used, highly recommend them.

 There is also a new company selling exactly the same hook. It must be a new tackle company as I have not seen it around till last year and this year they came out with these sickle hooks. I have bought some and compared them with Rod's and they are just as tough but a little cheaper. The company to look for is called West Coast Spinners and they have do-it-yourself kits, pre-tied and they have them with the lead head attached. I bought mine at Hatch Matchr in Maple Ridge.

Many tackle shops are bringing in or building their own jig kits, essentially copying Rod's stuff.
Try sourcing hooks and beads - you will find that unless you are buying in the 1000's you can't do much better than Rod's prices. I'm guessing most people don't want to pour their own lead heads to reduce costs.
The only heavy sickle jig hooks I have seen are made Matzuo - though there are several places in the US where you can buy them online.
Some kits use Owner or Mustad heavy jig hooks, but they are not sickle shaped.
