Vedder Break in
« on: November 19, 2011, 11:14:58 AM »

Just so guys know my truck and my friends car got broken into while out fishing today on the Yarrow side of lower, we were only away from the vehicles for about an hour early this morning between 715 to 815. It was someone who has done it before they must have a tool or a way to do it clean and quiet. Smashed the passenger windows and stole papers and anything with proximity of the glove box and console area without opening the doors at all. Cops said its been happening a lot there lately.

We both had nothing in there of value visible and they still smashed and grabbed.

On a lighter note while out fishing my guides on my spey rod kept icing up, Is there anything you can do or get other than just popping the ice cubes out?

I hope the RCMP nab these low lifes that are preying on fisherman. Won't be long until either they set up a bait car or someone catches them if they keep this up.

For iced up guides you should use Stanley's ice off paste by Loons Outdoors. This stuff works the best and it is safe on your fly line and rod guides. Just make sure to apply this stuff before you start fishing.

Some of these kids can get into your locked car and start it without the key just as fast as you could with keys. Sad as it is, it will only get worse due to the increased drug activity in the area. Shitty for us because where we park are gold mines for these lowlifes.

They did not throw a rock to smash the window. They jammed something on the side of the windows and the whole panel just cracked into pieces.

Based on this, these low lifes knows what they are doing.

As previously reported, we got broken into last weekend. Was going to go fishing today but changed our mind because of the breakins.

In the long run, this will hurt the local economy in Chilliwack. Less fishermen mean less money going into buying food, gas and tackles.

They are using the samething that you would use to get out of your car in an emergency. It is a cheap tool that you can buy at any car shop.

Here is a picture of one.

Most likely used the ceramic tip of a spark plug. Shatters glass with little noise...

Unfortunately these break ins have been going on for years now on the Chilliwack Vedder and else where, they stop for a while as the thevies get caught, spend a few days in jail and back out to continue spoiling our fishing experience. Need tougher sentences.
