This drives me crazy.  Is it that hard to buy a nice c&r net so the fish can be identified without being pulled from the water?  First they get bounced over the rocks, then dragged through the sand and booted back.  It's ridiculous.  >:(

Sad that the government wont do anything about this... I guess fish conservation vs FN rights isn't something the government wants to deal with right now.

We're quick to judge on this one.  And it's an easy target that irks many, especially when we read about black market sales (don't get me started there, cuz then I also read others ranting about this out of one side of their mouth, then also talking about their own personal purchases direct from the reserve)

For this tho, we don't know what happened.  A breakdown?  They managed to get to shore and salvage the females it seems, and if a roe fishery, I'm supposing they can still use that (the rest could be to fertilizer?)

It looks wasteful but maybe they made the best of a bad situation.
