Fraser River Fishing location...
« on: May 26, 2011, 08:47:41 PM »

edit: I posted this in the wrong section. Sorry mods.  :-\ please move it to the right section.

So this Sunday I am dropping a friend off at the Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal and I wanted to do a little fishing in the Fraser on my way back to Coquitlam. Now I have never fished this part of the Fraser before and am just looking to have some fun catching whatever I can catch from shore. (probably using worms or worms + spinners). Now I am not looking for your "secret" fishing spots or the such, just a few locations down that way that i might check out that are easy enough to access. Thanks for any tips you offer. Have a great day.

The Mighty Fraser is mighty high and muddy these days.

Easy access points in Richmond: foot of # 2 road, Garry point.
I've never bothered to fish the south side in that section of the river

Just a note that it is best to avoid Garry Point Park right now as the City has made it a mess for the tall ship festival.

Hi Rodney,

How long will this festival last? I was hoping to get out to GP next week.

Thanks.

I'm perplexed...from that link:

The proposed Tall Ships Richmond festival planned for June 3 to 7, 2011 is deferred until 2014.

But there seems to be something callled Ships to shore???

The original tall ships won’t make it till 2014, but there are other tall ships arriving this year.
There will be lots going on in the park this weekend.

Lol
Remember this:
If the weather is warm and sunny expect the place  to be literally crowded

I've been at garry's point today to fish but I was surprise with the amount of people within the vacinity. even without the tall ships  :-\...

Probably next weekend I'll try to fish at garry point around 7am-10am

well just for an update, I did fish the fraser closer to the mouth of the coquitlam, lol, and did manage to land a nice 11'' cutthroat that i released and lost another fish that was roughly 14-16 inches in length. plus, I literally almost ran into a small black bear that darted off. overall, it was a nice day to be fishing.
