The Puppy Thread...
« on: May 28, 2011, 06:21:18 PM »

Two weeks to the day Asuliu decided it was time for a new Pack around The Hacienda! We tried to keep them apart, but determination prevailed (right through the bars of the kennel!!) and so Eleven new "Booglets" came into the world. At least this time She decided to stay off my bloody bed to do so!

Their eyes have opened, and they are already planning their escape from the kiddy pool, and of course wrecking all mayhem to the house! Surprise in store for them, Outside is where all good puppies belong!

Time for a Snooze:

Sorry for the delay on getting these up! Been just a tad busy...

Round 2 of 3, 85 - 90 pounds of finished product a load!   ;)

And so Life as we know suddenly became "Interesting" around here yet again! Homes for three already spoken, but with 11, finding the other 8 Packs to join may well prove a bit of a task! Ah well, we'll cross that bridge when we get to it, and for now ENJOY the Puppy Breath and all their hilarious antics!   :D

Their coloring will change over time of course, and they will grow incredibly FAST at this stage. Suspect they will be fairly largish just like Mom & Pop. Will post pix as I am able as they develop...

Cheers,

Momma is Asuilu (Probably in Western Inuit). She is a mix of 1/2 Arctic Wolf, 1/4 German Shepherd and 1/4 Lab. Very pretty girl, and knows it, our Little Princess:

Poppa is Amaruq (Wolf in Western Inuit). He is a mix of 1/2 Timber Wolf and 1/2 Alaskan Husky. Very much my Buddy, he has developed into a very good Hunting and Fishing Companion:

Both are fairly good sized, Asuilu runs ~ 85 pounds, and Amaruq now hits the scales around 140. Most of the pups will likely range right around 100 pounds when fully developed. These Hybrids take a fair bit more effort than a regular domestic dog to train properly. They need a lot of room, exercise and attention. With proper love and attention they do well with other pets and children. Not an "apartment dog" obviously, they do require a good workout each and every day. Extremely intelligent, they do pick up very quickly on what you try to teach them, but can easily get bored if left alone. When afforded the care they require they make excellent Companion Animals and are well suited to an Outdoorsman/Woman lifestyle.

The Silver Girl has been spoken for since the moment she landed. Most of the blacks will also turn grey as they mature. The black & whites will look much like their father. We'll be seeking new packs for this clan in about 4 weeks or so depending upon their development. Feel free to pm or Email me if you're interested. Visits encouraged!  ;)

Cheers,
Nog

Last load of Candy finally out of the Smoker - ran all night for a total of 12.5 hours (must have cooled down overnight). Up four times to check on it...

My Tester to the left suggests it is READY and Good To Go!  :D

Pups kept me entertained between checks of course. Have to move them downstairs today as they can all escape The Crib now.
Will post a few more of them upon my return in 10 days or so...

Just have to vacuum pack the Goodies, set up the Puppy Kennel, and back to The Briney   ;D

Catch ya'll on the flipside...

Overdue for an update!!

Time has really flown by this Spring, and the Pups have grown considerably! Haven't started them on real meat yet (shortly now) but they are nearly fully weaned onto high end puppy chow. Obviously it agrees with them! Getting just coordinated enough to wander outside a fair bit, and they LOVE IT!

Got more than a few pix, so will run a few now...

A few more to come...

A few of The Favorites:

Silver Girl

White Side

The Bear

Blackie

The Flower Child

A fair bit of color range in this little pack, some of them (the darker ones) will change, however the black and whites are likely to stay somewhat close to what they are now.

Quite the menagerie what with 11 of them, they certainly keep us hopping. And Man, when they get hungry, do they EVER let you know IT'S GRITS TIME!! LOL!

As noted, they are growing quite quickly and all have a very great temperament! Love to be cuddled, and love People! We'll be looking for new packs for them shortly, a week or so down the road as long as their development goes as well as it is now. They will develop into marvelous Companion Animals, are great with kids, and good with other pets especially when introduced to them young.

More pictures for anyone interested can be found on the page here: http://gallery.fishbc.com/gallery/view_album.php?set_albumName=Ironnoggin

PM or E works if anyone might be interested...

Life continues to be both Interesting and FUN!!
