We went out to Reifel yesterday...

It was forecast to be clear, and for a change the weather man was right!  It was a cool clear, crisp day.  It made for some good shooting.  Here are a few from the walk.

1. A RARE visitor to Southwest BC - Northern Hawk Owl

Thanks for the nice comments!   There were probably 30+ photographers shooting the Hawk Owl that day... really funny to watch.

--Never seen a hawk owl before..are they daytime feeders or you just got lucky?

those pics are amazing, i need to get my friend with the new camera out to Reifel soon

They live in the arctic normally so are diurnal.  If they slept during the day it would be a long 4 month snooze up there :)

That's a nice job catching the Harrier. I spend a good piece of my time at Reifel trying to catch the Harriers over the tidal flats.
