Bronze hooks

Quick question...

Has any tied saltwater patterns on bronze hooks?
Would they totally rust out right away and break?
Could you rinse them out with freshwater after to prevent rusting, etc?

They will not instantly rust, but they will rust and you would probably have to thoroughly wash everything in your fly box as soon as you get off the water.  Would not recommend it unless it is a one off trip (which does not seem to be the case for you)
