With the great returns to the Fraser, what has happened to this year's return to Cultus Lake?

The counting fence at Sweltzer Creek was fish-tight as of July 27th.  The first day of fence operation was July 28th; 607 Sockeye have passed through the fence to date and 185 Sockeye have been retained for broodstock (Table 1).  Sockeye generally appear to be in good condition. The water temperature in Sweltzer Creek during the current reporting period is 19.0°C.

Walked about a kilometer of lower Sweltzer Creek today, didn't see any fish in the creek. Beavers are pretty busy in the lower area of the creek.

Lots of garbage in the creek too, next time I go I'm going to bring a bag and pick up a bunch. I figure they ones that actually make it up to the creek/lake need all the help they can get.
