Sockeye catch & release mortality study 2010
« on: June 17, 2010, 02:31:02 PM »

What are the exact dates of the study this year, Rodney?
I tried to find the info, but was unable to. ??? (I also e-mailed you, but to no avail)

Another thing, Rodney, could you please forward me Jim's (the biologist's) contact info.
I seem to have misplaced his cell phone number. :(

I really need to get in touch with him.

Thanks in advance.

Sorry Milo, I missed that email earlier.

I don't have Jim's contact, but if you send an email to Debra Sneddon at DFO, Debra.Sneddon@dfo-mpo.gc.ca, she should be able to help you. :)

Yes.
According to the official sources, the first 5-day period of the study is planned for August 2-6. The second will be August 09-13.
The third and final 5-day period has not been decided on yet.

I participated last year - had a great time (even caught my first sockeye ever) and received a nice hat for my efforts.

Me thinks I'll try to attend again this year (if I can take a day or two off work).  :)

Although I disagree with this study for reasons I have given before (could list again  :-\) I took a Chilliwack Progress reporter and photo journalist out in the Leaf Craft to cover this last year. While there I did some video, go to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vnUwWLMYjbM if you wish to view.
