Fresh water stealhead lice species?
« on: May 13, 2010, 09:42:33 PM »

I have fished a river on Van Isle for many years and have always notice a lice species in the mouths of fish that have spent a fair amount of time in the river.  I have only ever seen these lice attached inside the mouths of steel head.  They do resemble sea lice but they are pail colored and a bit larger or not as flat as sea lice, again only attached inside the mouth.  I think I may have seen this on a salmon in the river way in the past but I don't ever fish salmon in the rivers anymore so I do not totally  recall.

Anyway, has anyone ever seen anything like this before or know of any info about this?
