Some fish from my 5th annual trip to the rock. Gets better each year I go.

Nitnat River Cohos, all released

Nitnat River Springs, all were released as well.

Some bruisers in the mix

A massive buck

Steelie action such a nice surprise.

A little blood but fully revived before release

Just an unbelievable place. Didnt get out to all the spots I would have liked but still an amazing trip nonetheless

Not fished or flossed but got a few cool fish today. Every October the irrigation authorities open the weirs so that the canals draw down and don't freeze up and I assume it prevents the dams and levees from being destroyed by ice. Trout unlimited runs a volunteer fish removal from the canal system in southern Alberta and really we just targeted a section about 300 meters long and didn't bother with the remaining 40 km... So I can only guess that a lot of fish are going to get eaten by birds in the next few days. I would estimate in our first pass we got about 500 fish.

Anyways, most of the fish were minnows and suckers and very small, but a few bigger burbot and even a 19 inch brown was in a deeper pool.

Some of the volunteers doing the fun part...

The big fish of the day... This girl needs to go on weight watchers.

Me being a goof...

And a slippery little burbot...  :-X

Hook right in the toungue area. I know there is an artery in there but I think it was just the shot making it look a little worse. Released it as quick as possible after three quick pics. Bleeding stopped by the time it went on its way.

Nice fish you got this morning, The fish looked alot bigger on the beach then in this picture.  Maybe because it was a damn football.  :)

Thanks man, yeah the picture doesn't quite do it justice, it definately was a slab.

I thought you looked familiar but wasn't sure where I had seen you before. I guess it was on here. Next time I'll say hi  :)
