The Moon
« on: September 14, 2009, 10:16:21 AM »

Was out doing some birding on Saturday.  The birds didn't exactly cooperate, but the late summer moon in the clear blue sky made for an interesting target:

The autumn moon is always a beauty.  It'll be full again this weekend!

Was there a fire nearby?  The red colour is wonderful.

Yeah.  The fire had started just a few days prior, and blew up to about 10,000 acres.

The sky is a flat grey hear - pretty unlikely that we'll see the New Year's full moon.

There supposed to be a eclipse tonight. It looks like the sky will be clear all night so we are pretty lucky. There'll be lots of fireworks too. :)

I took some more tonight, jumped out of the house every now and then during dinner. Pretty excited! Second and third photos were taken during the eclipse, never caught the full eclipse, if it actually happened.

Some nice shots on the Eclipse.

It's possible that it was only a partial. You DEFINITELY would have known if it was a full one.
