New Chilliwack hatchery data

I have been in contact with the Chilliwack hatchery, and they have now posted 2007 and 2008 data on their web page

Wow.... for the number of Summer reds released the return has sure been small. Could be a better year for them this year based on the numbers released 4 years ago.... we can only hope.

Also, look at how many adult Coho made it to the hatchery last fall.  How did so many get past us with so few caught.?

I'm starting to wonder if some fish are predisposed to being active at night and some during the day.  Maybe over the previous years we've caught too many of the "day" fish, and only the "night" fish are getting to spawn and breed more like them.

Sometimes when it rains hard on the vedder/chilliwack,  the river comes up quick as well as the water clarity goes to nothing. Instead of fish slowly making their way up river and becomeing trapped in deep holes, where everyone fishes,  they take advantage of the high water and the cover of poor water clarity and quickly run to the hatchery without hardly stopping.
