Guided hunting trips
« on: April 20, 2009, 12:48:02 AM »

As I was never hunting before I just want to ask if somebody got some information about guided Hunting. I don't got a PAL nor a hunting licence. Just compared to guided fishing where you get your licence for a Day, get the gear and the guy put you right into the fish. Is there a way to do the same thing for hunting in the lower Mainland? I'm interested but I don't know if I'll like it that much before I spent so much money for own licences and gear.

id get out with someone and see if you like it, then if you do get the CORE or If you want a guided hunt you need to check out the GOABC for Outfitters

Have to agree that it is best to accompany someone on a hunt first. Also, you need a resident hunter number card, before you can buy a hunting license. In your case that would mean you would have to take the CORE course, before you are issued a hunter number card.

The problem is, I don't know somebody who's hunting. :'( But thanks for the answers anyway! Maybe I'll go to a gunshop and ask them if they know somebody who may take me out for a bit...

Join your local fish & game club, often also called rod & gun club, and get active. You will meet lots of hunters that are willing to share their knowledge and guide you on the right path. It's the best place to start for any newbi.
