Would Sundin see more pressure in Vancouver than Toronto?

Lou will turn things around with his game and the Canucks will make their way back to the top of their division... Canuck's have a great chance of going all the way this year... maybe you can save this post so I can say I told you so in a couple of months Smiley

Anyone remember what happened the last time Vancouver overpaid for an aging superstar ????

Building sized posters claiming the next Saviour will be a Half bald, Half dead skeleton named Mark Messier.  The time was so painful that many have forgotten.

Please no Sundin. Please !

Did we stumble on what the holdup may be?
August 7, 2008, 6:59 PM ET [605 Comments]

Talking to a source right now who brought up something that was VERY similar to what a former NHL Team person theorized to me earlier today...

The source, who has MANY years experience in the NHL, told me this..."I just heard that Toronto wants Sundin back and Sundin wants back in Toronto. Toronto will sign him today as long as Mats is willing to NOT include a NO TRADE CLAUSE in the contract.. That is the hold up currently and ONLY that."

WHOA!

That is a BIG TIME HOLDUP if I am Mats. NO way I go to Toronto without a NO MOVEMENT CLAUSE!

What is interesting is the former NHL team person theorized along these EXACT lines earlier had written to me saying that he feels Sundin wants to stay in Toronto... Toronto wants him back, but with the ability to trade him.... Sundin doesn't want that... so a standstill until someone blinks.... At some point, the air travel in Vancouver won't seem so bad and he will go there, or Montreal... but it is stupid for Toronto to have Sundin, if you cant trade him...."

Now logic tells us that once again, we are no closer to the "EXCITING CONCLUSION OF: WHEN WILL YOU DECIDE TO DECIDE TO DECIDE MATS?"

the canucks would need a whole lot more than Sundin to become a successful...even decent if that, hockey team. IMO Sundin isnt even a great hockey player...especially for $10 million/y . couldnt careless if he joined the club ::)

again...Mats will play in Blue and White...or retire...this sounds like Eklund's work...if you call what he does work(reads NHL forums and takes 12yr old kids' post's as a good source...ymmv...;))

Choke?  Are you kidding?  They're a sure fire bonafide team now, virtually guaranteed to win the cup now that they've signed Isbister.  I heard they're going after Chouinard now! LOL
