Fishery Notice - Fisheries and Oceans Canada

Subject: FN1037-Coho Closure in the Puntledge River

Effective 00:01 October 25, 2006 until further notice, the retention of coho
will be set to zero for the Puntledge River in Region 1. Currently the river
flows are very low. Concurrently coho returns to the river systems are very
low and minimizing incidental catch mortality should be prevented. Please note
the daily quota for coho for all streams in area 14 (East Coast of Vancouver
Island from the Oyster River to the Englishman River), is zero to protect these
stocks during low water conditions.
