Squamish - Sep 25 2006
« on: September 26, 2006, 03:20:30 PM »

My fishing buddy and I headed up to the Squamish system early in the morning. We were on the river by 07:30 (OK …. Not too early … but it’s early for me …. I need my beauty sleep).

River conditions: Very low. Very cloudy (with glacial silt), with that greeny white colour and about 6” of visibility.

The only fish seen was at the Bailey Bridge – fish showing but dirty.

Pounded the river with jigs, wool, spoons, and spinners. We missed a couple of hits, but for the most part, not much seen. WE NEED RAIN !!!

Highway report: Be careful! Lot’s of construction, with 1 lane each way, and very narrow in parts. Unfortunately there are still idiots out there who think it is a 6 lane superhighway. Almost sideswiped by a logging truck in the construction area.

I’ll be heading back up on Thanksgiving weekend. Hopefully there will be a better report and lots’ of pictures of my wife and I with big grins holding fish.

Thanks for the kind words BS. Believe me, she will be schooling me very soon.

Venessa (my Wife) has only been fishing for a short time. I taught her to cast out on the lawn, and next thing you know, she is casting like a pro.

She has a lot of admirers when she is on the river. They all comment on her casting ability, and she gets it in the right spot every time. We are going to the Vedder on Thurs, so hopefully her hard work and dedication will get her into a fish.

Stay tuned for further reports.

BTW .... anytime you want to head out again ... it would be my pleasure.
