Fished the lower Squamish for a couple hours this afternoon.  Found a nice pool with lots of rising.  Had two good hookups but could not land them.  One almost empty my spool of 30lbs line before spitting the hook (and the drag was set really tight!). 

Rodney:  the spoons worked great - now how do I land them?   ;D

Very high and cloudy.  I'd say visibility is about 1-2 ft.  Hope to go again this Friday.

Friday might be ok... The river level is still high according to the hydrograph... :( It needs to drop another 1.5 meters or so.

Gosh how in the world do you read that chart?  And look at the dates ... September???

I got hits on the pink & orange, the larger ones.  Tried the smaller spoons but I guess water clarity was so bad they couldn't see them.  Question: will putting a spoon or a spinner under a float work?  I thought it might cover more water that way.

the X-axis that's labeled: date & time in PST ... Sep 20,21,22,23,24

How do you read the chart anyway, given the dates are correct?

Then Select Squamish River at Brakendale.

You'll see it. :)

Hung, you can fish a spoon or spinner under a float. But when it comes to fishing spoon or spinner, i would love to have a direct contact with the fish. So i don;t usually put them on. But yes, you can fish it like you fishing with bait....

I've done the plain retrieve in near still pools like the gravel holes on the Vedder.

To be honest, my success with spoons and spinners under a float is very minimal. It's probably because that I've spend most of my time drifting roe or spinning in stillwater, leaving very little time to experiment. This year I have been doing some spinfishing in medium flow water where you would normally drift, and have done quite well. It's trickier, getting the lure down to the depth you want etc.
