Great place. I spent a couple of weeks there about 3 years ago. It was very late August/early September and the place was getting cold fast at that time. Very frosty mornings, but the afternoons warm up. We would see a few rises, but it's primarily a way-down-deep show on the south eastern deep area of the lake. We were getting them on deep shelves around 75-80 feet. Took us a day or two to figure it out. Nice fish, though, once you are into them. Full sink tip fly fishing with fairly large fly patterns in the dragonfly nymph category. I don't think it was the look, so much as the size of the bug that mattered. The people at the lodge had some absolutely bizarre patterns that worked very well for the deep fish. (I should say that there was the odd shallow water fish, but too infrequent to really make it worth while.) Whether or not you are staying at the lodge, head over there to ask for some advice on patterns. Trolling with gear works too, but you have to get your rigs a long way down.
I should add that they have an awesome dry fly season right about now. Like most lakes in the area, it lasts a few weeks, but tails off fast as July warms up.
The road is just fine for any 2wd right up to the base of the mountain plateau that the lake sits on. That last hill road can be a bit rough, but it's nothing a high clearance 4wd can't barrel through and it only lasts a couple of kilometres. I think the resort and local cabin owners have it graded once a year, so you may want to contact the resort regarding the condition.
