Barfishing the Lower Fraser

I'm planning on doing some barfishing in the lower fraser between brownsville and poplar.
Targetting jack springs.  My understanding is it is basically the same setup as barfishing in the upper river, but downsized.

Is there enough current in the lower to spin my spinNglo? What happens with the spinNglo when the tide is incoming?

Spin and Glow is not required.Fresh cured roe is what one uses to bar rig for jack springs.Brownsville Bar is excellent right now for jack springs.Go early to get a spot its very crowded.

went there friday talk to so guy that was there all day said at least 30 fish were bonked

is it still busy on the weekdays in the morning? i think i might take a day off call in sick with salmon fever ;). also what size weight should be used? and will it be any good tomorrow seeing how they've been netting all weekend?

Yes it is still busy on weekdays, people start lining up before the sun comes up and by 7 am the beach is packed. At most the beach hold 25-30 guys shoulder to shoulder. With the recent attention its been receiving it might even be a good idea to spend the night on the beach to insure a spot.  ;D

As far as the netting goes jacks are too small to get caught as they are usually only a couple of pounds.

Just a word of caution, tensions can run fairly high at this bar due to the crowding. Because they fish in such tight quarters if you are unfamiliar with the technique and currents you may end up with alot of tangles with the anglers next to you. Its best to watch the guys around you to see how far they are casting and what size weights they are using.

what makes brownsville so hot for fishing? fishing from brownsville to the mouth for jack springs should be good on the south arm right? im not to keen on being jammed in next to people.
