Anybody try one of these? Nice looking boats, but will they stand up?

My parents have one and haven't complained about it yet, which is saying a lot because my dad is an Olympic level complainer.

I have herd that they used to have problems with the transon seperating but that was a few years ago. Hopefully they have solved this problem as they are nice looking boats with a good price.

I've had an 11 ft Acquamarine for 4 years now and I'm very very happy with it! No problems whatsoever during this time. I'd say I've used it on average at least 30 times over the last 4 years. No issue with the transom for me. I use a MinnKota trolling motor with it. Have also mounted two rod holders, one on each wooden bench and even rigged up a fish finder to it. Everything (i.e., boat, oars, motor, battery, and all the fishing gear fits into the trunk of my sedan. The only issue I've had is that the foot pumps tend to break and the canvas bag  you put it in can tear fairly easily (especially if you drag it on a ground, just a bit). Other than that. it serves all my needs to get me on the water to the fishing grounds. It's great on the water, though because it's so light it, it's probably a bit tougher to handle with some wind.  I'd strongly suggest that you get an electric pump that can be hooked up to the deep cycle battery. That provides the pump with lots of power to inflate and deflate quite well. I still inflate the last 15% or so with a foot pump to get the pressure needed but I don't need the foot pump at all to suck the air out completely so it can be rolled up. One final thing, is that if you get one, I'd practice rolling it up a couple times before you go out. While it's not difficult to do, you do need to get the hang of it.

If your only doing lake fishing you can pick up a cheap solution at wal-mart.  Its a 12 foot inflateable $139 and the motor mount is $44 at Canadian Tire.  The idea is based on the  DYM-380, but didn't cost me $1000.  The floor is just a hinged piece of treated plywood with thick filter cloth glued/stapled around the edges to protect it.  We fish 2 adults and 2 kids no problem, but this is for lakes only.
- The tubes are 30 guage pvc

The reason for doing this was I sold my old 12 foot tin boat I just bought the 11 foot  ;D. I went to the warehouse directly and had a good look. I'm quite happy with my purchase- very reasonable at 950 plus tax. There was a guy in for service and the guys really went to the ends to make sure he was a happy camper. I don't think they'll run short as they just got a new container load My son and I are going to slap on a 10 horse(it's rated to 15) and go for a run up Indian arm on Sunday for sea trails. I'll report back then.
