Chilliwack River, July 29th 2011
« on: July 29, 2011, 11:03:21 PM »

Took a look at he river on the way to pick some wild trailing blackberries, I had the rod along just in case I was going to have time to make a few casts. I saw a number of people working the water but the majority of them were long lining, especially at the Cement Slabs. I did not see any action and I watched some for a bit.

Saw a deer on the road, be careful when you are up that way as saw one that had been hit and killed yesterday. By the debris around the car must of suffered a lot of damage. I phoned the highway contractor and they came and picked it up.

Stopped at the Chilliwack Hatchery and saw 4 adult chinooks in the channel, snapped some pictures of them, fairly colored.

Went on up river, saw lots of campers heading for camping spots, hope they cleanup their garbage especially after we cleaned a good part of the river a week ago. Picked a few pounds of berries that sure go good after a dinner of chinook. ;D ;D

Oh, the river is in prime condition.
