I was wondering if using powerbait and other scented plastics are breaking the bait ban? I think it says bait is "all food and food like substances" could someone please clear this up for me? thanks

Page 9 of the 2009-2011 Freshwater Fishing Regulations Synopsis:

Bait is any foodstuff or natural substance used to attract fish, other than wood, cotton, wool, hair, fur or feathers. It does not include fin fish, other than roe. It includes roe, worms and other edible substances, as well as scents and flavourings containing natural substances or nutrients.

The way I read it is MOST scents would be illegal.
If it is a synthetic scent (ie not natural) it wouldn't be. Not sure if any products use a synthetic scent though... anise oil is natural.
