--do you have electronics.. depth finder etc. what type of gear do you have available?

--near trout creek boatlaunch there is a deep trough sometime productive also near troutcreek but depth changes can cause hang up if trolling so need depthfinder if trying to fish the ridges.

--early morning or late evening or else you may have to go with downrigger to get to cooler water.

--crescent beach shelf edge.
--ledge east of boat launch south of sunoca... you will see guys there fishing from shore.. they are casting out near the edge of deep water.
--you can troll along this shelf edge most of the way to penticton if you have fish finder.. gps would be helpful to track path for future reference.

--if not depth finder then you're going to have to fish early and late with a few oz of weight thus avoiding hang up.
--kokanee and trout all along this break off.

Thanks for the info..
Day 1 we trolled around rattle snake island for the day.. 3 guys and 3 rods.. One of us (not me or my buddy, but my buddies dad) caught 2 Kokanee, one about 4 inches, and the other about 11 inches.. No fish finder..
Day 2 we headed out in front of Sunoka sp? With a fish finder.. Funny area, 80 feet.. 30 feet.. 120 feet... 3 feet.. Fish finder said there were lots of fish, but we couldn't find any of them..
Anyways, thanks for the info, we had fun..
That lake is pretty huge and feels like you're at sea depending on what area you're in.. Gets brutal at times

--from Sunoka you can see why you need a depth finder to try and fish along those breaks.
--get a chart of the lake or take a look on anglers atlas for generally areas to fish.

--as weather cools next few weeks fish will again be near surface so not as critical and you can fish across the lake. at crescent beach I often fish along the break then straight out across the lake in a large circle then back to the ledge at crescent.

--If you were at rattle snake there is also good kokanee fishing right at the okanagan park campsite and boatlaunch near the bay between the two campgrounds and up to greata ranch area.

--for sure you have to keep an eye out on winds they can come up faster than you can reel in and get across the lake.

Any advice on what to offer the fish? We tried various things, but for me it was guessing.. Various flies, maggots, some worms, wedding bands.. I even put some wool on a bait loop..

Thanks,

Rob

--Lyman lures of kelowna.. check you their web site for compleat list most of their plugs are available at Canadian Tire in Penticton or Troutwaters fly and tackle kelowna.. you can order on line as well.
--I use everything from smaller for kokanee to the larger plugs for rainbows.

--I prefer wobble type spoons so small apex in black, green, pink or larger apex silver.. either alone behind 3 oz weight or on downrigger just above where fish are showing.. Can use these or the plugs behind a troll if you wish.

--Bucktail flies, usually october to march near the surface long line or small weight, can use in combination with mini  Oki dodger.

--Okanagan is single barbless hook, lyman makes plugs with treble but also with single hook, can save some money by getting the models with single hook ... if you order on line just mention you want single hook.

--have used a willow leaf with a dick nite trailing for kokanee... I don't use bait as it doesn't seem to increase catch and it slows the wobble on the spoon.

--also use a old crock spoon... remove the hook and trail a tumbler spoon similar colour.. from compleat angler...
--I often use larger spoons as small dodgers for both kokanee and trout or the Oki tackle mini dodger with  similar colour tumbler spoon.

--also use the fishwithgary  kokanee rigs
