Title: Cheakamus River Contaminated in Train Derailment
Post by: FISHIN MAGICIAN on August 05, 2005, 10:48:56 PM
hi.

Heard on the radio that the Cheakamus has been CONTAMINATED with a large chemical spill from a train derailment. The carnage has been massive as all fish are totally DEAD--and they were picking up all kinds of fish, pinks, Chinooks, etc. .

Apparently 9 cars on the CPRail line derailed and went down an embankment and spilled into the river. They didn't say what chemical it was.

The report I heard came from News 1130 and stated that NO SWIMMING< NO DRINKING< and NO NOTHING should be done with that river.

Anyone got anything else?
