After an embarrassing loss to PR, will the US team rebound and win the gold? This is a team with NBA superstars such as Tim Duncan, Iverson, James, Marbury, Anthony, among others.
-
i don't even understand, they didn't just lose to PR, they got "DESTROYED" as james toney would put it ;)
-
There are too many good international teams that can compete with them now. Gone are the days that they dominated the sport. I voted them 0, but they will contend for a medal.
-
I hope not

USA ALL THE WAY
Hard work will beat talent if talent doesn't work hard.
but sometimes talent just wins anyways ;D

If they start emphasizing team basketball, then the US will have a chance. I think other countries are much better at playing fundamental team ball. Many of the US players skipped college too and went straight to the NBA where individual play is more emphasized.
Anything less than a gold will be considered a major disappointment for the US players and fans.

Reading the morning paper and found out that Americans hope that the get they're buts kicked. Apparently the calls coming into the sports radio shows are overwhelmingly against their "team". People are saying that they're a bunch of over paid children and that "they show as much enthusiasm as a school boy at a Tupperware party." It shows that the general public down there is smart enough to see past the individuals and look at the team. I think the guys in charge of the "Dream Team" must be having nightmares. There coach should quit in discust and not be ashamed to do so.

Its a totally different team and atmosphere than when Jordon, Magic, Bird, Pippen, Ewing and Barkeley led the first US DT to gold in 92. Back then, all the top stars wanted to represent their country and show the world that the US was top dog in b-ball. Before that, only US college players were on the olympic team and they were rarely competitive with the world.
This year, many of the top stars such as Shaq, Garnett, Kidd, Kobe, and T-Mac supposedly did not want to go.
In today's game with Aus, they were losing by 12 points before they rallied to win...

here's the difference:
jordan, pipen etc... were not gangster
iverson, garnett, shaw etc... gangster
::)

Coach Brown has already won at the College level and just recently at the NBA level. Maybe he wants a gold to round it out.
-
Too bad he has to coach this team.
-
He's also reunited with AI with a busted hand.
-
Sweet ! :D

Well, the US team finally gets to enjoy a blowout as they beat the powerhouse Angola team ;).
This is the same country that Charles Barkley found threatening back in Barcelona that he had to sucker elbow their 174 lb Angolan forward.
-
Well, they lost their semi to Argentina, which means Bronze at BEST
-
Wonder what excuse they'll give ?

Just great ! I saw parts of the game during the 3rd qtr and they were completely outclassed. Those NBA guys in the U.S. team came with a real swagger and terrible attitude because they thought just being there will be a Gold slam dunk. I hope they will even lose the game for the Bronze to teach them some humility. :o :o :o

Just back from holidays. Too bad they won bronze :'( Great they did'nt win Gold ;D By the way, did Lithuania or Argentina win gold?
-
Argentina - Gold
Italy - Silver
USA - Bronze
Was wondering why you weren't posting much these days ;)
