Title: any way to remove black paint off the aluminum on a flyreel?

hey all...just wondering....any way to remove black paint off the aluminum on a flyreel (outer rim)? (without damaging the reel)...thanks

I used to use oven cleaner to remove anodizing from alum parts on my rc's.  I'm sure it would do the trick for paint.  I would take it apart and remove the line so It doesnt damage anything.

Paint stripper would be my first thought. If you don't want the harsh chemicals, there are some "natural" ones out there that work pretty well, just take a little more time to soak. Some super fine steel wool to get the scraps maybe?

Airplane paint remover it won’t harm aluminum I used it to strip the clear coat of some rims so I could polish the pits out of them
