Title: Pram wheels on Jon boat
Post by: Barbelface on September 10, 2020, 05:12:28 PM
Might be a stupid question but can you leave the pram wheels down when boating? I know you can flip them up, which isn’t an issue, it’s flipping them down while the boat, and likely pin slot is under water when coming back to shore. Not sure how low the back will sit in water and not thrilled about losing pins trying to lower wheels In Freezing temps....

You might want to attach a tether to each pin if possible.
If not then at least have a spare .
Have never used the wheels myself so cant answer your question.
If you dont get an answer here you could allways try FlyBC as there are members there that have these wheels.

I leave my wheels down pretty well all the time. It actually adds more buoyancy to the rear of the boat. My battery, trolling motor and my fat my my @$$ need it

Thanks for that. I was thinking exactly the same way. Two largish tires with several psi should help “flatten” the boat out 😀

I found that with the wheels down it slowed the boat down to a perfect trolling speed too, like dragging a bucket behind.
