Heading over to Powell River at the end of July. I won't have a boat but would love to take the kids crabbing. Anyone know if they have any docks. Someone told me they have a beach with a big walkout with rocks but then said that's where the sewage goes out of..
Anyone know if its possible to crab at any of the beaches?

There is a dock by the Lund ferry if my memory is still working

There are Dungees and re rocks there...but PR is not super productive as a crab spot. Dungees like that sand or mud bottom with eelgrass and a little bit of fresh water. They are there but it’s not like off Fraser mouth...prawning is good though.

These docks won't be deep enough for prawns... would they?

My understanding is they have a bunch of docks there... do I just pick anyone and fish off or is there a public use one

Willingdon beach has a walk out dock to fish and crab off of. Nice park to go for a walk as well.

I see people on there all the time when I’m in town, I didn’t know there was poop getting pumped out there lol, I swim there to lol, I see boats dropping traps all down that beach, right up to the pulp mill. The crabs must taste pretty crappy
