Lack of support, If something like this happened in the Lower Mainland it would be taken care of the next day. By volunteers or hatchery support ect...
Just shows how neglected that area is.

There’s so few left in the Bonaparte they’re probably better off spawning below the fishway rather than having to endure all the handling.

I don't know the area - is there sufficient spawning habitat below the fishway?

Yes, it’s a very short section of river, less than 3kms, but we’re only talking about 30 +/- steelhead.
