Photos of this sort of thing have been around since state hatcheries started dumping fish for put and take opening day fisheries. That means since the 50s or 60s. I've seen similar photos and video of people fishing for salmon in Ontario. Similar line ups occur at the Scale Bar, The Campbell when the pinks are in and I have seen and fished in them at the Big Q when the coho are in.

You can argue how bad it is but other folks will point out the family activity taking place their, lots of kids getting a chance to catch trout and perhaps kick starting an interest in sport fishing for a lot of people.

I realize that we sometimes have very crowded conditions here in BC, in certain places and at certain times.
Where I fish there is nobody. I have to drive to get there, but there are many quieter options.

We are so lucky here in BC., for now. Until they decide that recreational fishing is not environmentally friendly and they tax it to the sky and then eventually ban it. 😒

It is Hokkaido chum fest. Nice fresh chum. The crowd reminds me of fishing Florida Sebastian Inlet Pier 2 months ago. Must be 200+ fishermen but everyone catching all kinds of fish. Talking about fishing bonanza.  ;D
