I found an abandoned crab trap. As I pulled in the rope I noticed minnows falling out of the seaweed that was attached to the rope. They were about an inch long and bronze in colour with a dark back.....they were baby rock cod. I quickly put as many as I could back into the water and tried not to get any more in the boat.
I had no idea that they immeshed themselves in the seaweed so tightly. I would have thought that they would have been scared away by the movement of the rope. It was an interesting experience.
