Title: Stan Mikita Blackhawk great RIP
Post by: arimaBOATER on August 07, 2018, 06:23:35 PM
Stan the man Mikita a hockey great has died. 78 yrs old so that's not a bad age to kick the bucket. Many die sooner. He was a real gentleman & great play maker / skater / stick handler / wrist shot.
Bobby Hull had his slap shot & Stan his wrist shot.
Remember back in the 1970s was waiting in the car for someone at the Columbian Hospital in New Westminster & on the radio was the Chicago Blackhawks... Stan , Bobby & Dennis Hull on & on...oh Tony Espo the butterfly goalie.
Then Bobby Hull went to the Winnipeg Jets in the new league & was signed for the unreal amount of 1 million dollars. Stan & Igor Larionov had a similar style of play. Stan may you RIP God bless.

Early in his career Mikita was a mean SOB. He used his stick to carve players as well as scoring goals. He had over 100 penalty minutes in 4 of his first 6 years. He died of dementia and Parkinson. RIP
