Title: Pink Salmon patty recipes: whatcha got?
Post by: clarki on July 06, 2017, 11:02:29 AM
August 2017 I got a mess o' pinks from the chuck and opted to turn the meat into a mess o' salmon patties using a recipe that I got from another website.

Some of the patties I cooked fresh and I wasn't happy with the blend of the seasonings. The rest of the patties I froze, however those spoiled when our freezer when TU during that freak August windstorm.

Do members have any tried and true pink salmon patty recipes? Ever tried freezing the raw patty for cooking later? I know pinks don't freeze well. How did that turn out for you?

Best to lightly cook/poach the fish first.  I do a bit of mashed potatoes, garlic, onion, shallots, grated carrot, lots of fresh dill, parsley combo then mix with egg and maple syrup.  Add in bread crumbs and form into patties.  Brown in fry pan or BBQ and enjoy.

I do almost the exact same thing. I just use green onions instead and no peppers. Very good for left over cooked fish.
