Title: Red rock crab recipe
Post by: fish fear me on January 21, 2017, 03:52:17 PM
I have been crabbing a lot recently and as a result have caught many red rock crabs while the claws are always a good feed, once I've eaten them I'm left with the tiny legs with almost no meat I have heard of people making sauces or soup from the legs but have yet to find a recipe. Just wondering what other crabbers do with their the red rock crab legs.

I just let 'em go. Know some Asian folks that do it Schezuan, just google Szechuan crab recipe. I think we're too spoiled here with our Dungeness crabs. I remember when I visited Taiwan people were eating very small crabs.

I let them go now. Just too much shell to meat ratio..not worth the effort to eat..otherwise the meat's pretty sweet when fresh. I steamed a few once in garlic, butter, some chinese wine, and a pinch of salt...delicious 😀.
