Fished at first light yesterday for about 20 minutes and managed to connect with two, both were released. It was too crowded at where I fished so went home for breakfast soon after.
Found a different spot for this morning which I thought would produce well. It didn't turn out as planned. Four light taps on the spoon, before the bite turned off and river turned mud. Next time.

Rod....just curious... are you mostly chucking spoons these days? Most photos you've posted have your rod and a croc. Do you still float fish or do you just have more success with spoons?

I love float fishing with roe, so usually start out the season with that but I hook and land way more fish with spoons and spinners, so by early October that's pretty much all I am doing if I want to bring fish home. Less to carry, less mess, works for me when I can only go for an hour in the morning.
