Here's an aerial view I shot of a big school of coho salmon and how they reacted when we ran our spoons through them. It's a little dark and blurry if you are not watching it at 1080p so change your setting before watching it.

They know they are being filmed and don't want to be the fish that gets caught on a drone camera. ;)

Were you fishing in the hatchery ponds again? Awefully small salmon. Either that or you were using 1000lb test mono
-
Actually all of the fish seen here were 10lb+. They look small because the camera is hovering 50ft+ above water.
-
Do I see a couple with radio tags on them swimming around in there ?

At 50 ft. Still looks like 1000 lb. test :o ;D ;D ;D ;D.

It's Berkeley Fireline Crystal. Apparently it's invisible to fish when looking up. I've put it on the water surface before and looked up at it with goggles on a hot sunny day, and I have to say, it is definitely not as visible as it is from above. The white light coming from above masks it perfectly.
This year on the island, as seen from this video, the fish were incredibly spooky. It was odd, considering many times we had good water conditions compared to previous years. It didn't matter if it was the white braid, the green braid or straight mono - any time the line hit the water the fish scattered. We started "high sticking" as soon as our spoon or spinner hit the water when we noticed fish spooking. This made the lure ride higher in the water, but also kept the line off the water, and we saw much better success in doing so. Most years this has not been an issue. In this particular spot, the river is so wide that keeping your entire line off the water isn't possible, so you tend to get a couple fish in a roe when you first get there, and then they shut off and scatter with every cast.

Hey Dan.....hows the line memory on the fireline crystal. Does it act more like braid or a very smooth mono. Dont see many people using this product on the vedder. It looks quite visible in the drone video.
