I'm lucky to have a steady supply of hummers and tits all winter long to keep me warm. lol
(http://i.imgur.com/c55bjMY.jpg)
Sorry for the crappy blackberry picture.
American Bushtits - a flock of about 20 roost a fir tree in my backyard and hit my front suet feeder most days throughout the winter.
Anna's Hummingbird - I saw a couple of the little guys taking cover during the windstorm hiding in my roddo's so I decided to put out the feeder this winter. They have been hanging around ever since.
-
Super cool, Damien!
We have a friendly Anna's at our place as well, this is her second winter visiting our feeder. We call her Alfreda. Earlier this month we also noticed a male at our feeder more than once, his ruby red throat was incredible. He has been dubbed Alfredo. LOL
My gf and I bought a starter (non-humming) bird feeder last weekend and I set it up. So far I've been at work during daylight hours but my gf has seen a couple of black-capped chickadees visiting it in the mornings, which is super cool as they are our favourite birds on the block. Our setup is fairly standard, looks something like this (except our hummingbird feeder is mounted separately under our house eaves):

The photos I have are generally pretty terrible, as I don't have a nice camera. That said, at our feeder since we put it up earlier this year we've had Chickadees, Black-eyed Juncos, and what I think are Fox Sparrows and European Starlings.
Speaking of Chickadees, one of my absolute favourite bird photos ever was this one from Dragonspeed he posted a number of years back in the 2010 Birds thread:

I loved it so much, it inspired me to try watercolour painting for the first time!

Just thought I'd share that instead of grainy smartphone pics of my bird sightings. :)
Keep 'em coming!

Your FIRST watecolour!?!? Great work!
Thank you! It was fun to do, probably going to peruse the old threads a bit more and pick out some other birds to practice on. :)

Some great shots!

Holy crap, andrewscag! Those are some mighty fine pictures - I felt like the little rufous was going to fly right out of my computer screen!

Thanks Tex! He was fun to photograph. Seemed to get used to me clicking away as I sat at a picnic table with my folks.
Really need to get a speedlight at least one of these days. Such reflective little guys.

One suggestion - I would clone out the feeder to make this just that much more compelling.
-
In my opinion, this bird ranks right up there with "Lilac Breasted Roller" for incredibly sexy bird! Did you know it is the National Bird of Uganda??? These pictures were taken in the Ngorongoro Caldera, Tanzania - May 30th.

You're probably right about cloning. I thought about it and left the feeder in.
Man that is an amazing bird! It almost doesn't even look real. Nice captures!
